Meet your therapist, Laney Wallace

I work with the belief that every human being has the innate capacity for healing. What healing looks like, however, is different for everyone. That being said, I will tailor our sessions to your unique needs and challenges with a little bit of clinical expertise sprinkled in. I draw from all of my training modalities and apply them in the way that best suits you. I also incorporate the mind body connection and spirituality into my approach to healing. I use warmth, compassion and humor in my sessions.

We'll start by covering what's going on for you currently and how to immediately make some changes to start feeling better. Then, we may begin to explore what's below the surface and tap into your emotions and unique patterning. Processing and understanding these parts of yourself can allow for deep healing, fulfillment and greater sense of self and purpose.

I am a modern therapist, so I will work with you to get to the bottom of things rather than just "mhmm-ing" and nodding at you from across the screen.. My clients like that I am relatable, and that's because I too have struggled with anxiety. I know what it's like and have the professional training to help you through it.

Now, if you want a little bit more of the resume-y stuff, you can find that below.

credentials

NY State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist #002041

Board Certified & Registered Art Therapist #16-082

I received my Master's degree from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Since then, I have extensive clinical experience in school settings and inpatient hospital settings. I have worked for a major NYC hospital for just under 10 years where I had the absolute privilege of supporting patients and families in some of the toughest crossroads of their lives. I spent many years supervising provisionally licensed art therapists as well as graduate student interns.

I took on the journey of private practice at a small scale and later found a passion in the long term, deep rooted work that can be done on a consistent basis. After a few years on my own, I founded Alchemy Creative Arts Therapy where I love supporting women on the journey to deepen their relationship to self.
