Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that utilizes the creative process to explore emotions, improve mental health, and foster self-awareness. Unlike traditional talk therapy, it allows individuals to express themselves through various art mediums, even if they have no prior artistic experience.
Art therapy can be a useful form of expression when words don't quite add up or thoroughly express what we are feeling. I explain it to my clients as another tool in the toolbox to express yourself, gain insight, and process your emotions on a non-verbal level.
