WHAT IS EMDR THERAPY?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
It is an integrative mind-body approach to therapy utilizing standardized protocols that can be incorporated with other modalities such as traditional talk therapy as well as art therapy.
It involves the use of bilateral stimulation in the form of eye movement, tapping or sounds to process distressing or negative thought patterns.
